Couples' Therapy

Problems with relationships, friends, family, work, and health can lead to symptoms of anxiety, stress, depression, disturbed sleep and poor coping strategies such as substance abuse. We all need a safe and supportive environment to explore life's challenges and there is tremendous value in identifying troubling thoughts and feelings with a professional.  Megan James infuses compassion and encouragement into the therapy process, helping you gain relief from your symptoms and to develop the resolve to move towards your values.

We can all use support to help navigate the changes associated with ageing. Role changes (such as retirement/redundancy, caregiving to partners/family member), social challenges, as well as perceived deterioration in physical and mental health can lead to increased anxiety and depressive symptoms. At Amber Psychology, we can work with you to alleviate the fears associated with diminished capacity and address frustrations arising from role changes and health-related impairments.

Romantic relationships can be challenging. At Amber Psychology we are focused on helping you to improve your relationship satisfaction by helping you to resolve conflicts, to engage and reconnect on a more intimate level, and understand each other’s needs.  We can help you address difficulties in communication including values-conflicts, identify work and social stressors, and adapt to significant life-changes (such as parenting, financial pressures, declining physical health and bereavement).
